About Us

First Nation Growers (FNG) is guided by Dawn Tabobondung, a proud Anishinaabe-Kwe and respected member of Wasauksing First Nation. As the Founder, CFO and Director of Culture, Dawn embodies the Anishinabek values of respect and kindness, rooted in integrity and her dedication to wholistic well-being. In honouring the spirit of her ancestors, Dawn unites individuals with likeminded visions, building shared pathways toward meaningful collaboration and sustainable, long-lasting prosperity for the betterment of all peoples’.

Dawn’s journey is guided by those who came before her and a powerful family legacy of leadership and service dedicated to the betterment of the broader community. Walking in the footprint of her grandmother, Chief Flora Tabobondung, recipient of the prestigious Order of Canada and her mother, Chief Joyce Tabobondung, a respected Robinson Huron Treaty Territory Elder, Dawn proudly carries forward a family legacy shaped by culture, natural law and community service for the greater good. A family legacy that continues to guide her commitment to Mino-Bimaadiziwin, the Anishinaawbe way for living a good life, in harmony and wholistic balance with all creation.

As the Culture Coordinator for the Seven Generations Program at Rosseau Lake College, a member of Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS), Dawn has demonstrated a remarkable gift for sharing Anishinabek culture, Indigenous Ways of Knowing and ancestral teachings in a kind and respectful way, the Anishinabek way. Her work builds meaningful pathways rooted in the natural world and Mother Earth, bringing together international students from diverse cultural backgrounds, educators and First Nation students to strengthen intercultural understanding. Dawn’s guidance and cultural teachings inspire young learners, educators and people from all walks of life to learn, grow and walk together on a shared journey toward a brighter and more connected future for Seven Generations to follow.

Under Dawn’s leadership, FNG acts as a welcoming bridge-builder connecting Indigenous and Non-Indigenous individuals, organizations, communities, schools, government (s), industry and Corporate Canada partners. In sharing cultural teachings, natural world knowledge and green energies, FNG strengthens sovereign community capacity and cultivates a deeper respect for the Original Peoples’ and Mother Earth. Beyond simply helping organizations succeed, FNG welcomes everyone to walk forward together, united, toward a more inclusive, connected and uplifting future for all peoples’ and those yet to walk upon Mother Earth.

Key Offerings

Bridge Building:
At First Nation Growers, bridge building is rooted in the Tabobondung family’s connection to the Beaver Clan dodem, where the beaver teaches wisdom, diligence, protection and the sacred responsibility of building strong foundations for the benefit of the broader community. Guided by Anishinabek teachings, FNG creates trusted pathways between Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations, governments, educational institutions, Corporate Canada, and First Nation communities. Through Indigenous-led expertise in relationship building, strategic planning, engagement consulting, green energy solutions, communications, and next-generation education, we advance wholistic growth, intercultural understanding, sovereign capacity building and economic self-sufficiency. Our purpose is to bring good people together through respectful, shared values and meaningful collaboration, building enduring partnerships that support practical reconciliation, community resilience, and shared prosperity on and off sovereign lands.

Learning in a Good Way:
Learning in a Good Way, a visionary Indigenous-led education initiative, integrating ancestral teachings, language, ceremony, storytelling, culture and land-and-water-based learning into modern classrooms, communities and institutions. Led by Dawn Tabobondung, Anishinaabe-Kwe Cultural Facilitator, the “Learning in a Good Way” initiative shares Indigenous Ways of Knowing with kindness, compassion and authenticity, empowering young learners, educators and next-generation education partners to build character, cross-cultural understanding, confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking. Mother Earth:
Protecting our shared home, Mother Earth, is a fundamental responsibility of humanity. As water, air, land, and wildlife face increasing pressure, true progress begins with restoring lands, safeguarding waters, cleaning the air and rebuilding a respectful relationship with the natural world that sustains life and all creation. Environmental decisions must include Indigenous Peoples from the beginning, honouring their rights, laws, treaties, constitutional protections and sacred responsibilities as the original caretakers of Mother Earth. Water is life, not a commodity and decisions affecting land and water must be rooted in respect, transparency, good faith and free, prior and informed consent. First Nation Growers uses Indigenous-led knowledge, teachings and stewardship to help governments, organizations and environmental leaders make responsible decisions that support restoration, balance and long-term wellbeing. The true measure of progress is our faithfulness in protecting our shared home for future generations and those yet to walk upon Mother Earth.
